The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) has announced the winners of its 2022 Individual Safety Awards, recognizing industry professionals who have made significant contributions to ensuring mine workers' safety. According to NVMA President Tyre Gray, "Safety will always be the number one priority across Nevada’s mining industry – it’s woven into every aspect of our culture and operations for that very reason." He congratulated the 37 award recipients for their dedication to maintaining safe and healthy workplaces.
The awards are determined based on performance in the previous calendar year, with 105 nominations submitted. Recipients were chosen by their peers within the industry. These individuals will be honored at an awards luncheon on September 10, 2022, during the NVMA Convention in Lake Tahoe.
Additionally, in July, the NVMA plans to announce the Mine Operator Safety Awards. These awards will highlight companies demonstrating exceptional commitment to workplace safety, based on data from the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
The NVMA's mission is to advocate for Nevada's modern mining industry and promote its role as a forward-thinking and essential part of the state's future. More information about their initiatives can be found on their website.
