October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of early detection and treatment. According to recent statistics, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. Early detection significantly improves survival rates, with a 5-year relative survival rate of 99% when detected at its earliest stages.
The Mammovan is traveling across Nevada this month, providing convenient mammogram services for women aged 40 and older. Women are encouraged to schedule their annual screenings by checking the Mammovan's schedule to find out when it will be near their city or town.
In addition to scheduling mammograms, individuals can support breast cancer awareness by purchasing a Breast Cancer license plate through the Nevada DMV website: https://dmv.nv.gov/plate-breastcancer.htm.
