A snapshot posted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Patrol Chief Sean McGoffin reported over 1,800 illegal aliens from 32 countries were arrested in the Yuma Sector, which covers the state of Nevada, during the month of September.

The snapshot also included 18 intercepted human smuggling cases, 7 drug smuggling cases stopped, and one response to a 911 call for aid by border patrol agents.

McGoffin gave details on some of the busts throughout the month on his X account. "Blythe Station put a halt to three separate human smuggling attempts last week, arresting one U.S. citizen and 18 Mexican nationals," he wrote on October 1. "Agents are on patrol around the clock providing interior enforcement to defend our homeland."

The CBP has reported 52,062 illegal alien encounters in Nevada's Yuma Sector during fiscal year 2024, which runs from October 2023 through September 2024.

"YumaStation agents arrested a Mexican national for illegal entry and determined he is felon convicted of manslaughter and a Paisas gang member," a report on Sept. 30 announced. "Ciro Alvarado Delgado, 61, will be prosecuted for reentry after removal."

In total, the CBP has reported more than 2.7 million illegal alien encounters during Fiscal Year 2024, while there were only 646,822 in Fiscal Year 2020. So far in the fiscal year they have arrested 45,402 illegal aliens with prior criminal convictions or who are actively wanted by law enforcement.

"Wellton Station agents intercepted a vehicle on I-8 east of Yuma and discovered the driver was smuggling more than 110 pounds of fentanyl and 8 pounds of meth in the gas tank," a Sept. 28 post on X said. "The driver, a Cuban national, and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration."

The Yuma Sector covers approximately 181,670 square miles of primarily desert terrain, with 126 miles of U.S.-Mexico border.
