Former President Donald Trump, speaking at a Las Vegas rally Sept. 13, said he is the “border president.”

“I am your border president,” said Trump. “Kamala would be the president of invasion.”

“I will be the president of making this country stronger, better, more beautiful, bigger, more powerful, wealthier, safer than ever before,” said Trump. “I will protect our country; she will surrender our country."

Trumps remarks came at a Sept. 13 rally held at The Expo World Market Center, located at  435 S. Grand Central Pkwy. in Las Vegas. 

Almost 2.6 million illegal aliens have been encountered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Fiscal Year 2024, according to a CBP report. 

There were only 646,822 illegal alien encounters in Fiscal Year 2020, during which the Biden-Harris Administration took office.

Vice President Kamala Harris was appointed by President Joe Biden on March 24, 2021 “to lead efforts to stamp migration across the U.S.-Mexico border.”

Since Harris’ appointment, the “surge” of illegal aliens crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, particularly the Southwest portion of the U.S., has grown worse.

Nevada is located within the Yuma Border Sector, which has seen 50,344 illegal alien encounters thus far in Fiscal Year 2024. 14,000 of those illegal aliens were from Mexico, 4,230 were from Guatemala, 1,064 were from Honduras, 769 were from El Salvador, and the vast majority — 30,281 — were listed by CBP as being from “other” countries.

The Yuma Sector borders the Tucson Border Sector, in which there have been 440,598 illegal alien encounters to date during Fiscal Year 2024, with 247,483 of these encounters being from citizens of Mexico, 80,709 from Guatemala, 3,386 from Honduras, 3,160 from El Salvador, and 105,860 from citizens from other countries.

Only 8% of voters in battleground states, including Nevada, said Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance on the border was “very strong,” according to an August American Greatness poll. 47% of voters in that survey said her performance has been “very weak.”

"We must for the sake of our communities, we must for the sovereignty of this Nation, secure our border, confront the cartel, and make America great again," said U.S. Senate candidate Sam Brown (R-Nev.) in remarks at the same Las Vegas rally.

Brown is a retired U.S. Army captain and a combat veteran who was severely injured in Afghanistan in 2008. He will face incumbent U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) in the November General Election.
