WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped introduce the Working Families Tax Relief Act to help lower taxes for Nevada families by expanding the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit. Senator Rosen was part of the initial push to expand these tax credits for working Nevada families, and she helped pass an enhanced Child Tax Credit as part of the American Rescue Plan Act.
“At a time when Nevadans are facing inflation and high prices, I remain committed to providing them with financial relief,” said Senator Rosen. “This legislation would help cut taxes for hardworking Nevada families and put more money directly into their pockets.”
The Working Families Tax Relief Act would:
- Make permanent the American Rescue Plan’s expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit permanent, which cut child poverty by 40 percent.
- Increase the Child Tax Credit and make the credit fully refundable.
- Deliver the Child Tax Credit monthly, providing a reliable source of financial stability so families can better keep up with the cost of living.
- Nearly triple the Earned Income Tax Credit for workers without children, and make the credit available for people starting at age 19 and eliminating the maximum age.
