Gov. Steve Sisloak (D-NV) recently took the time to tout some of the milestones he has accomplished while in office.
According to a press release shared by Nevada government, Sisolak released a letter addressed to citizens where he highlights a number of initiatives that he helped spearhead including earmarking $25 million to finish University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ School of Medicine.
“I look forward to seeing these achievements continue to make the Silver State a warm and welcoming place for all,” Sisolak said in the release.
In addition, Sisolak used his 2021 State of the State address to report that the School of Medicine would aid the state in recruiting and educating medical professionals.
Other programs that Sisolak touted include the First-In-The-Nation Grant Program for Children with Disabilities, the Transforming Opportunities for Toddlers and Students Grant Program and grants to address children's mental health that are being led by the Department of Health and Human Services.
According to Sisolak: “I am proud that during my time as governor, the State of Nevada has made historic and lasting investments on behalf of our residents. This work does not happen alone – it takes every one of our employees and our partners across the Silver State and I am deeply appreciative and grateful for all the work.”
