Henderson Seeks Muralist to Honor the Late Dundee Jones at Namesake Park

The City of Henderson is seeking an artist to paint a one-of-a-kind mural to debut alongside the opening of its newest park Dundee Jones near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Jeffreys Street.

The Call for Artist application seeks an experienced muralist to create a fly-fishing-themed mural in honor of the late Henderson Parks and Recreation Director Dundee Jones, who was instrumental in laying the foundation for Henderson’s nationally recognized parks and recreational programs.

The mural will be a 33-foot-wide and 8-foot-tall feature at the new 6-acre park that will feature an adventure dog park, pickleball courts, splash pads, playgrounds and more.

One artist or artist team will be selected for the project based on submitted proposals and can receive a reward of up to $8,000.

Dundee Jones Park's anticipated completion date is the Spring of 2023. Art submissions are open now and close January 19 at 4 p.m.
