Gov. Steve Sisolak is confident that the state is headed in the right direction as he recently updated his 2022 State of the State Address.
Sisolak said the state was "on the move" during his July 19 speech that was made to update citizens on how the state is doing six months after the initial address, a recent news release from the governor's office revealed.
“Every day, we are working to build a brighter future for Nevadans," Sisolak said in the release. “When I make a promise, I know there are thousands of people – families, workers, children – relying on the state to follow through."
Moreover, in his initial 2022 State of the State Address, Sisolak promised numerous commitments intended to help all residents, including lower daycare costs and helping law enforcement personnel better serve the community.
“I’m proud of the work that’s been done in the last six months to help lower the cost of living for Nevadans, we're going to continue going above and beyond for every resident that calls Nevada home,” Sisolak said.
Some of the milestones reached over the past six months include $500 million for affordable housing developments, a $50 million investment to help lower childcare costs, $20 million for mental care and $75 million for school meals.
