Gov. Steve Sisolak (D-NV) recently announced that the state’s public schools have been given his quarterly state salary grant of $27,484.61

According to a news release shared by the Nevada government, the recent donation puts Sisolak at $320,000 that he has given since becoming governor at the beginning of 2019.

“The First Lady and I are proud to be able to make these donations through the year and fulfill my promise to enrich the lives of students, educators and families across our great state,” he said.

His office noted that he has donated to 320 public schools throughout his tenure as governor, which makes good on his promise to donate money received from his participant-funded salary in order to make a positive impact on the state’s public school system.

According to Sisolak: “Now more than ever, we need to prioritize investing in education. As Governor of Nevada, I’m humbled to have the opportunity to give back and to help improve the educational and academic achievement of our students.”

After donating his quarterly salary in March, Sisolak said that the donations served as “a symbol of my personal commitment to education and my promise to positively impact the lives of our educators, families, and the children of Nevada’s public schools.”
