Governor Sisolak names Kristen Stout Office of Federal Assistance Director: "I am thrilled to welcome Kristen to my cabinet."

Kristen Stout was named director of the new Office of Federal Assistance by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak last week.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kristen to my cabinet and see her take up the vital work of ensuring Nevada receives its fair share of federal dollars,” Gov. Sisolak said. “I have made increasing federal funding into Nevada one of my key priorities and Kristen brings the experience, knowledge and passion that will deliver on that priority for our state and local government agencies, tribal governments and nonprofits.”

Governor Sisolak added that Stout has the needed knowledge to be successful at her job in helping municipal governments, tribal governments and nonprofits.

Stout, who will start her new position on April 11, 2022, has over 20 years serving the public sector at the federal, state, local and district levels, according to a news release by the governor’s office.  

Stout has served as the Administrative Services Director for the levels Port San Luis Harbor District since 2016, driving economic sustainability for the district and overseeing the operations of six departments, according to the release.

Under Stout, The Office of Federal Assistance will examine how to clear hurdles to receive federal grant funding, lead a program to match federal funds for state grant recipients and be a liaison between multitudes of government agencies, according to the governor’s office.
