The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) has announced the recipients of its 2023 Individual Safety Awards. These awards recognize industry professionals for their dedication to ensuring the safety of mine workers. A total of 47 individuals have been honored for their commitment to safe mining operations.

"Safety is always of utmost importance in Nevada’s mining industry, and I am so proud to congratulate this year’s award recipients," stated NVMA Interim President, Dana Bennett. "It’s an honor to celebrate these incredible individuals who continue to lead by example and go above and beyond to show extraordinary commitment to the mining industry’s safety culture."

The awards are based on performance during the previous calendar year, with 133 nominations submitted and voted on by peers within the industry. The winners will be recognized at a Celebration of Excellence dinner on September 8 during the NVMA's 110th Annual Convention in Lake Tahoe.

In addition, the NVMA plans to announce recipients of the Mine Operator Safety Awards in July. These awards will highlight companies that have shown exceptional dedication to providing safe workplaces, using data from the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
