There were 58,495 Black students enrolled in Nevada schools in the 2023-24 school year, 1.2% less than the previous year, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

Data showed that Nevada welcomed a total of 479,578 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 12.2% of the total enrollment, to be the third most represented ethnic group in the state.

Among the 721 schools in Nevada, Legacy High School recorded the largest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 862 students.

Enrollment in Nevada public schools has dropped nearly nearly 2% in the last four years.

Nevertheless, Nevada has roughly one teacher for every 21 students, well above the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A higher student-to-teacher ratio has been found to negatively impact students' school performance.
