A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Nevada Secretary of State - Elections Division on November 4, 2024. The request, submitted by Silver State Times, a media organization committed to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought access to the NevVoter - Statewide List as of that date.
In accordance with the Nevada Open Records Act § 239 et seq., we at Silver State Times have requested these records preferably in an electronic format. Our primary objective is to gather and report news to the public, holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency. Access to such public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
We believe that as a media organization involved in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver. We await a response from the Nevada Secretary of State - Elections Division regarding this matter.
