Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford has announced the availability of grants aimed at combating domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The funding opportunity is open to Nevada law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, courts, and non-profit organizations through the Services-Training-Officers-Prosecutor (STOP) and Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) grants.

The grants are funded by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women and are distributed by the Office of the Nevada Attorney General. They aim to support local, regional, and statewide programs that provide victim services through non-profit service providers as well as law enforcement, prosecution, and courts in Nevada. These initiatives focus on enhancing victim safety and holding offenders accountable for crimes related to intimate partner violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.

Attorney General Ford emphasized the importance of these funds: “The funding provided by these grants sends resources to programs that help the victims and survivors of domestic or sexual violence," he stated. "We must work together to support those who have suffered from such crimes. These grants give our community law enforcement agencies the tools they need to ensure that support is widespread and accessible.”

Interested agencies must submit their applications by Monday, September 30th, 2024 at 5 p.m. Additional information regarding solicitation and application can be found on the Attorney General’s website or by contacting their Grants Unit via email.
