Description: Opening in early 2023 on Henderson’s re-imagined Water Street, Azzurra Cucina Italiana offers well-prepared, much loved Italian classics in a boutique space. Owned by local architect and Water Street bon vivant Windom Kimsey, Azzurra’s culinary team includes local favorite Chef Alessandra Maderia.
Focused on classics, the menu includes cold starters like Caesar and Caprese Salads, hot starters like Chef’s Famous Meatballs and Grilled Octopus, pastas like Penne Vodka and Orecchiette Pugliese, and mains like Lemon Chicken and Pan Seared Salmon. Each dish centers around quality ingredients and traditional preparation. Azzurra’s cocktail menu offers the Perfect Negroni, Captain Walter – named for General Manager Walter Ciccone – and a Bailey’s Espresso Martini to start or end the night with.
Located on the south end of Water Street in Henderson, the restaurant sits directly next to Kimsey’s custom home on the block. Designed by Kimsey himself, the soothing space includes natural materials, geometric tiles, and pops of azure blue – a nod to the name. The interior seats 30 guests, with an attached outdoor patio framed by olive trees.
