Gov. Steve Sisolak (D-NV) recently honored a veteran employee of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Robin Allender formally retired on Dec. 9 "after 27 years of professional excellence and loyal service," according to a news release from the governor's office.

"Now, therefore, I, Steve Sisolak, governor of the state of Nevada, do hereby proclaim Dec. 9, 2022, as a day in honor of Robin Allender," Sisolak said in a proclamation.

Allender started her career with the DMV in Las Vegas as a field services technician in September 1995, the news release noted. She was promoted to field services supervisor in March 2000 and field services manager III in 2005. She became deputy administrator of the Field Services Division in October 2015. Allender received her final promotion to the position of administrator in the Field Services Division in November 2021.

Allender "endeared herself to all with her vast knowledge, dedication to service, and compassion for others," according to the news release. She is admired by her colleagues and "will be sincerely missed, both professionally and personally" by those who had the opportunity to work alongside her.

"The Department of Motor Vehicles and the state of Nevada joins [sic] with co-workers and management in expressing our profound and sincere appreciation for Robin's 27 years of outstanding service to this department and the residents of our Silver State, earning her the right to enjoy a well-deserved and happy retirement," Sisolak said.

Allender will now be able to spend more time with her daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, and pet, the news release noted.
