Ward 2 City Council Vacancy

The North Las Vegas City Council unanimously approved an application process for filling a vacant City Council seat. The application process will be used to fill the recent vacancy in Ward 2.

Application packets will only be available on the City’s website during the application period, which goes from today through December 1, 2022.  The application packet consists of the following items:

  • North Las Vegas Ward 2 Community Map
  • City Council Member Application Acknowledgement
  • City Council Membership Application
  • Nevada Open Meeting Law Waiver
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
  • Nevada Secretary of State – How to Guide: Financial Disclosure Report
Persons interested in submitting an application packet for consideration of the Ward 2 Councilmember seat, must electronically return the application packet to the City Clerk’s Office by or before December 1, 2022 at 5:45 P.M. at cityclerk@cityofnorthlasvegas.com.

All completed applications submitted must include the following in order for City Council consideration:

  • City Council Member Acknowledgement
  • City Council Membership Application
  • Nevada Open Meeting Law Waiver
  • Current Resume that includes Employment History
  • Copy of Voter Registration Card
  • Copy of Driver’s License
  • Nevada Secretary of State Financial Statement
All applications and materials received by the City of North Las Vegas are considered public records (with the exception of driver’s license).  Completed and submitted applications will appear on the City of North Las Vegas website.

The North Las Vegas City Council is tentatively scheduled to meet during a Special Council Meeting on December 15, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. to deliberate and recommend the appointment of a councilmember for Ward 2. 

Immediately following City Council’s appointment, the newly appointed councilmember will be sworn-in and term will take effect.
