First Lady Kathy Sisolak provided the keynote address during the dinner ceremony portion of The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) Women's Collective Summit.

According to a news release shared by the Nevada government, the Summit was held at Caesars Palace with Gov. Steve Sisolak (D-NV).

“I couldn’t be prouder to see Kathy take the stage and inspire AAPI women from around the country to use their voices to create a better, more inclusive society,” said Sisolak in the release.

The APAICS Women’s Collective Summit was established to bring women involved with AAPI together in order to reflect their standing in society via careers in public service, according to the release.

According to First Lady Kathy Sisolak: “As AAPI women, we know the obstacles that have confronted our paths. The unfortunate Anti-Asian hate discussion has a silver lining – it has brought together a movement for change. We have seen more members of the AAPI community speaking out about hate crimes, getting involved in local, state and national elections and seeking public office themselves.”

According to the release, the summit was a three-day event.

“Kathy and I are proud to see so many of these women sharing ideas and opportunities – and I’m grateful to work alongside so many powerful AAPI women to identify and solve issues facing the community in Nevada,” said Sisolak.
