Genbusiness009

City of Boulder issued the following announcement on November 16.

For the second consecutive year*, the City of Boulder City received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The recognition is for the FY2022 (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022) budget. The award reflects the commitment of the Finance Department staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

“Our residents appreciate the ease of finding information throughout the budget process,” said Diane Pelletier, Finance Director for Boulder City. “The Finance Department provides a clear, understandable presentation every year, which helps everyone, regardless of accounting or budget background, relate to how funds come in and how they are spent.”

There are over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. Award criteria requires meeting nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation and measure how well an entity's budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.

The Finance Department staff received a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation. “I am thankful for the hard work Diane and her staff put into the annual budget once again,” said City Manager Taylour Tedder. “Continued affirmation from GFOA, the leader in sharing best practices and development in government finance, should give residents peace of mind knowing we are doing a phenomenal job in our Finance Department.”

The Budget Presentation can be viewed on the City’s website at www.bcnv.org/DocumentCenter/View/9379/FY22-Budget-in-Summary. You can view other Finance Department publications at www.bcnv.org/finance/publications.

*Due to a delay from GFOA, the City was notified of the FY2021 Award in August 2021.
