After some offensive emails, Jon Gruden decided to resign as the head coach of Las Vegas Raiders, and just a day after his resignation, he was removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers's Ring of Honor. The Buccaneers announced the decision Oct. 12.

"The Buccaneers are erasing Jon Gruden's legacy from the team's history," Twitter user David Hookstead tweeted. "This is beyond pathetic. I'm not even sure Osama Bin Laden was treated this poorly."

Articles by the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times revealed that Gruden was actively racist, homophobic and misogynistic, according to the NFL's website.

Gruden coached the Buccaneers from 2002 until 2008.

The disgraced coach was inducted into the Ring of Honor of the Buccaneers in 2017.
