Nevada unemployment rate fell slightly in July. | Canva
In the newest jobs report released this month, data shows that the Nevada unemployment rate has fallen to 7.7%.
“Nevada employment is 1,335,900. The unemployment rate in July is 7.7%, down from June’s 7.8%. Since June: * Las Vegas employment increased by 6,500 jobs (0.7%) * Reno employment increased by 500 jobs (0.2%) * Carson City employment increased by 100 jobs (0.3%),” the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation said in a statement on Twitter.
The 7.7% mark is 0.1% down from the 7.8% the state saw in May and June. Since June, the number of unemployed people has decreased by 458, 8 News Now reported. The total number of unemployed individuals in Nevada now totals 121,664 people. Additionally, the labor force is currently of 1,577,618 people in Nevada — 8,457 more people entered the labor force in the state in the last month.
In Carson City and Reno-Sparks, the percentage was lower than the state’s, coming in at 5.3% and 4.9% respectively, Nevada Appeal reported. Most of the state’s unemployment reports come from the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. Here, the unemployment rate is 9.4%, 1.7% more than the state’s percentage. However, July’s unemployment rate went down from its June levels at the state level.
