How Much Does an Entry Level Paralegal Make in the United States? 

The entry level paralegal researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. They assist and support attorneys with research for trial or due diligence. 

Becoming an entry level paralegal typically requires an associate’s degree or its equivalent. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, so an understanding of technical legal terminology is required. 

In addition, entry level paralegal typically reports to an attorney as the work is closely managed. Working as an entry level paralegal typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. 

The average entry level paralegal salary in the United States is $58,700 as of June 28, 2021, but the range typically falls between $51,900 and $66,300. 

How Much Does an Experienced Paralegal Make in the United States?

The experienced paralegal researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.They also assist and support attorneys with research for trial or due diligence.

Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work, working as a experienced paralegal typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience

The average experienced paralegal’s salary in the United States is $68,300 as of June 28, 2021, but the range typically falls between $60,500 and $77,200. 

How Much Does a Senior Paralegal Make in the United States?

The senior paralegal researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Assists and supports attorneys with research or due diligence. Being a senior paralegal has a strong understanding of technical legal terminology

The senior paralegal typically reports to an attorney. Being a senior paralegal contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Working as a senior paralegal typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.

The average senior paralegal salary in the United States is $80,700 as of June 28, 2021, but the range typically falls between $72,200 and $89,800.

What Can a Paralegal Earn in Nevada?

In May 2017, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 2,200 paralegals and legal assistants employed in Nevada.

The paralegal profession is expected to undergo growth as legal departments and law firms reduce attorney hiring in favor of less costly paralegal labor, expanding the role and prominence of support staff within the legal community. 

Additionally, corporations are expected to invest in internal legal departments to offset the rising cost of external counsel. 

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates 15% job growth for paralegals nationwide from 2016 to 2026. Growth in Nevada should outpace the national growth rate, with projections estimating a 30.7% increase in Nevada paralegal jobs from 2016 to 2026.

The average paralegal salary in Nevada as of May 2017 was $54,670. This average salary is competitive with the national average paralegal salary, reported at $53,910.
