Nevada voters urged to report voting irregularities to hotline

Voting

As Donald Trump pursues lawsuits in several states, including Nevada, claiming voter irregularities, an outlet has been created to field accounts from voters.

The website, Election2020Unmasked.com, was launched Friday.

The Star News Network the site, which founded the site, said in a press release that it was created to combat the attempts by social media platforms and search engines to suppress information regarding the presidential election.

In Nevada, two lawsuits were filed by the Trump campaign in an attempt to stop ballot counting.

The first move was to impose an injunction on automated signature-verification machines used in Clark County.

In a press conference held on Nov. 5, a Nevada voter claimed that when she tried to vote, she was informed that somebody had already sent a mail-in ballot under her name. She alleged that the signature-verification technology used in Clark County was faulty because it had allowed someone else to cast a vote in her name.

On Nov. 6, the lawsuit was thrown out by a federal judge for lack of evidence, with the judge also noting that federal judges should not have any say in the administration of state elections.

A second motion was filed to force state election officials to permit closer observation of ballot counting at the Clark County ballot counting facility. The lawsuit was filed by the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and the plaintiff, Fred Krause.

The lawsuit was thrown out by a district judge who wrote that there were no grounds to bring forth such claims and no evidence to support the arguments. The plaintiffs in the case appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court, which agreed to expedite the case but denied the request for immediate relief.

According to TIME, the state Supreme Court revealed that the Republicans and the Trump campaign had reached a settlement. The settlement reportedly allowed the public to have greater access to observe the ballot counting process

Election2020Unmasked.com will focus on various examples of questionable election practices and examples of voting irregularities.

Additionally, the site will feature a 24-hour tip line (615-747-1500) that people can call to report incidents they feel interfered with a free and fair election.

Members of the public can also send emails to tips@election2020unmasked.com.

Christina Botteri, executive editor of the Star News Network, said the hotline was launched amid concern over the transparency of this year’s election.

"We agree with so many others that 2020 is the most important election in our lifetimes, and instead of an orderly vote-counting process, we are seeing a level of chaos we could never imagine," she said in a press release. "We are dedicated to bringing truth, transparency, and confidence to the election results - and we will not stop until we and the American people have exactly that."
