UNR on equal opportunity, Title IX: Resources available for ‘immediate and long-term support’

The University of Nevada, Reno’s objective is to make sure that everyone at the university can fulfill their potential by ensuring that they are treated with respect and dignity.

“As part of #InternationalWomensDay & the 50th anniversary of Title IX, @unevadareno would like (to) highlight the Equal Opportunity & Title IX Office,’’ the school recently tweeted.

The goal is cement that students obtain a proper education without the aspect of discrimination playing a role in their college tenure, according to the school’s website.

“The University of Nevada, Reno is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive campus culture,” the school said. “To this end, the Equal Opportunity and Title IX office serves as a resource and leader in furthering the university’s commitment to equity and diversity working to promote equal opportunity for all members of the Wolf Pack Community.”

In order to ensure students obtain a fruitful education the school’s vision calls for every member of the university to be respected.

“In addition to the resources provided through the Equal Opportunity and Title IX office, a variety of resources are available to any member of the Wolf Pack community who has been affected by sexual violence, harassment, or discrimination and needs additional support,” the university said. “The university’s many resources are available to provide both immediate and long-term support and guidance.”

The Nevada System of Higher Education strives to provide an atmosphere that is free of any potential discrimination that could derail a student’s ability to succeed, according to University of Nevada, Reno’s website.
