The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) track and field team achieved several personal-best performances during competitions held April 18 across two major California events: the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa and the Beach Invitational in Long Beach.
These results highlight the team’s progress as athletes set new individual records while competing against strong fields. The weekend’s performances provide momentum for UNLV as they prepare for upcoming meets.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Taryn Bailey led with a standout showing. On Friday, she recorded a personal-best time of 2:09.54 in the 800 meters. Bailey followed up on Saturday by winning her heat in the 1500 meters with another personal record of 4:43.18. Claire Rands added to these achievements by finishing her own race with a personal-best time of 4:42.33.

The Rebels’ relay team—composed of Mikah Scott, Lauren Brown, AnnaKay Maitland, and Aly Winston—secured fifth place in their event with a time of 45.31 seconds.
Other notable results included Scott placing fifth individually in the women’s 100 meters with her own personal best (11.67 seconds), Kaitlynn Webbe finishing eighth in the women’s 400 meters (54.69 seconds), and Kayli Middleton taking fourth place in triple jump at a distance of over twelve meters.
