The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) softball team completed a three-game sweep against Boise State with a 9-6 win in the Mountain West series finale on April 19. With this victory, the Rebels secured their place in the upcoming Mountain West Softball Championships.

The outcome is significant for UNLV as it ensures their participation in the conference tournament, marking an important achievement for the team this season.

The game saw multiple lead changes and ties before Bri Williams delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to give UNLV the advantage. Diamond Sefe contributed with a standout performance at bat, going 4-for-5 with a solo home run, two runs batted in (RBI), and two runs scored. Williams also recorded three RBI, while Keyannah Chavez and Presley Barnes each had two hits. Mantha Hatzenbeller added an RBI and scored twice. Lauren Fettic earned her twelfth win of the season by pitching in relief.

Throughout the game, both teams exchanged leads until late innings when key hits from Williams and Chavez pushed UNLV ahead for good. The Rebels out-hit Boise State 13-7 during this matchup. Other notable performances included Lyla Gonzalez scoring twice and Fettic striking out three batters over 1.2 innings pitched.

Over the weekend series, Sefe led UNLV offensively with a .636 batting average across three games, including two home runs and five runs scored. Hatzenbeller also performed strongly while playing in her home state of Idaho, hitting .556 with five RBI across nine at-bats. Fettic appeared in all three games against Boise State—earning two wins and one save—and limited opponents to a .304 batting average over more than ten innings pitched.

Looking ahead, UNLV will continue its road trip by facing Grand Canyon University for another three-game series starting Friday, April 24.
