The Dr. William W. Sullivan Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) has secured a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support its TRIO Teacher Preparation Student Support Services (T-SSS) program through 2030.

The T-SSS initiative aims to help undergraduate students majoring in education by offering services such as academic advising, tutoring, financial literacy training, aid counseling, career guidance, academic progress monitoring, and grant aid. The program will serve 140 UNLV undergraduates each year in an effort to create pathways for future teachers and address the ongoing need for qualified educators in Nevada’s classrooms.

According to the announcement, “T-SSS will provide participants with academic advising and tutoring, financial literacy and aid counseling, career guidance, academic progress monitoring, and grant aid.” The funding is expected to strengthen the teacher workforce by supporting students throughout their educational journey.
