The William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) has received a $300,000 donation from alumni Sean Claggett and Louella (“Lou”) Claggett. The gift, made through the Sean and Lou Claggett Charitable Foundation, is the largest ever given to the law school by an individual alumnus and his family.

This donation will establish the Claggett Family Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship includes both endowed funds and immediate-use resources, with a focus on supporting students who have strong ties to the Las Vegas community. According to UNLV, “This commitment strengthens Boyd Law School’s efforts to attract outstanding students from the local community and demonstrates the significant role alumni can play through philanthropy.” The first recipients of this scholarship will be selected for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The university highlights that gifts like this are important in helping local students pursue legal education and in fostering ongoing connections between alumni and their alma mater.
