More than 250 students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) are participating in an IT Help Desk Simulation project as part of the university’s new cybersecurity bachelor’s program. The initiative is a collaboration between the academic program and UNLV’s information technology team.

Through this project, students are gaining practical experience by operating a simulated help desk environment. This allows them to develop customer support and communication skills that are essential for careers in cybersecurity and information technology. Additionally, students are preparing for industry-recognized certifications aimed at improving their job prospects after graduation.

The hands-on approach is designed to ensure that graduates of the program possess both technical knowledge and workplace-ready abilities sought by employers.
