UNLV’s College of Engineering recently marked the 25th anniversary of the Fred and Harriet Cox Senior Design Competition. This event is a key part of the engineering and computer science curriculum at the university, serving as a capstone project for students.

The competition requires each student to select, plan, design, and prototype a product. The program aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among participants. Held every semester, it helps students improve the quality and commercial potential of their projects. In addition to technical skills, students gain experience working in teams, sourcing materials, and developing their presentation abilities.

The Fred and Harriet Cox Senior Design Competition has become an established tradition at UNLV over the past quarter-century.
