September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, emphasizing the significance of mental health and the availability of resources for those in need.

Nevada Health Centers provides Behavioral Health Services to support both patients and employees. In alignment with its commitment to mental health, the organization has conducted safeTALK trainings for staff, enabling them to identify and respond to signs of suicide. Additionally, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) sessions have been hosted at the Elko Family Medical & Dental Center, offering community members the skills necessary to intervene effectively during crisis situations.

“This month, we want to remind everyone that support is available,” stated a representative from Nevada Health Centers. “Whether you are a patient or an employee, Nevada Health Centers is here to help. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out.”

For more information on Behavioral Health Resources or upcoming training opportunities provided by Nevada Health Centers, interested individuals are encouraged to seek further details. It is also important to remember that 988 serves as the National Suicide Hotline and is accessible to anyone in need.
