State Policy Reports once again ranked Nevada as having the best economy in the nation.

“Nevada’s economy is strong and on the right track,” Gov. Steve Sisolak said in a release. “State Policy Reports’ ranking is another key indicator that Nevada is not only a great place to live but a great place to be in business. Across all agencies, we are laser-focused on creating opportunities for Nevadans.”

In the first quarter of 2022, Nevada maintained State Policy Reports’ position as the best economy in the country. In the publication’s documentation, it ranks states based on their most recent compliance on three key measures of economic vitality. These are job growth, population growth and personal income growth.

Only 19 states exceeded the national economic compliance on this update of the rankings, the release said.

Nevada is the leading state for employment change, surpassing Hawaii and California, the release said. Nevada employment increased 9.7% over the past year compared to the national average of  4.7%.

Nevada revenues grew 10.2%, slightly behind Florida and Texas at 10.3%. Nevada’s annual population growth is 1% compared to the national average of 0.12%. Idaho led the nation with 2.9%.

State Policy Reports is published by nonprofit Federal Funds Information for States.
