Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak recently hosted a summit to bring together key stakeholders from the infrastructure industry to discuss how to best allocate incoming investments from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
According to a press release, Infrastructure Summit was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center drew almost 500 attendees.
“To date, Nevada has received nearly a billion dollars from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. These funds mean good-paying jobs, expansive health care, education, clean energy and equity across our state,” Sisolak said, according to the press release. “We are committed to using these investments in the best, most efficient way possible to help the most Nevadans as we build a brighter future for future generations.”
Sisolak gave the opening remarks at the summit and was followed by other speakers including U.S. Under Secretary of Transportation Carlos Monje, White House Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu, Las Vegas Raiders President Sandra Douglass Morgan.
Breakout sessions during Infrastructure Summit covered topics including how infrastructure investments affect water, clean energy, high-speed internet, workforce development, and well-paying jobs. Nevada Sen. Jacky Rose gave comments to attendees between sessions.
Sisolak and the State of Nevada recently launched the website NevadaBuilds.com to provide details on these investments.
