The Federal Highway Administration recently approved the Nevada Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan submitted in July by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT).
According to a news release issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Nevada was among 35 states, along with Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., that had their National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Deployment plans approved by the federal agency.
“The NEVI plan is the playbook for transforming the way Nevadans and travelers move across the state, and FHWA’s approval gets us one step closer to achieving a clean energy future that will see more jobs, cleaner air and an economy that works for all Nevadans,” Gov. Steve Sisolak said in a state government news release. “I look forward to seeing our plan get fully implemented over the coming years, and I appreciate all the partners who helped bring this plan to fruition.”
The plan is funded by President Joe Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“I’m excited to see our NEVI plan was quickly approved by the FHWA, especially as electric vehicle adoption rates begin to accelerate across the West,” NDOT Director Kristina Swallow said. “We are ready to get to work to implement our plan while coordinating closely with local stakeholders, the business community and the public.”
