In an effort to highlight mounting support for a proposed bipartisan bill for solar jobs in Nevada, U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) and the Director of the Governor’s Office of Energy David Bobzien toured SunRun in Henderson.

Rosen said that the current solar tariffs are damaging the ability for the sector to continue to grow.

“These harmful solar tariffs are costing thousands of good-paying jobs and are raising the price of clean energy in Nevada and across the country,” Rosen said in a release from her office. “Nevada has the largest solar economy and highest number of solar jobs per capita in the country, and I look forward to working with these organizations to make sure we repeal these harmful tariffs and protect American jobs, while lowering clean energy costs and expanding domestic manufacturing.”

Rosen stated last month that local and national companies endorsed the bipartisan Protecting American Solar Jobs and Lowering Costs Act.

“Nevada is home to the largest solar economy and has the most solar jobs per capita, but these tariffs on solar panels have increased prices and cost jobs,” Bobzien said in the release. “Senator Rosen has been a leader in working to repeal these tariffs and invest in American solar manufacturing. Her legislation would benefit our state and create jobs.”
