The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Nevada has released the voting records of state legislators. This information will guide the endorsements made by its political action committee, NFIB NV PAC, ahead of the upcoming election season.
Tray Abney, NFIB’s Nevada state director, stated, “We are one of the few business groups that goes to such an extent to issue endorsements based on actual votes on specific bills that affect our members.” He emphasized the importance of having elected officials who understand and act in favor of small businesses when voting.
The evaluation covered seven issues common to both the Nevada Assembly and Senate from the last legislative session in 2023. Senators were assessed on an additional eighth issue. The details of these issues, NFIB’s stance on them, their outcomes, and how each lawmaker voted are available for review.
To receive NFIB’s endorsement, lawmakers needed a minimum 70% pro-small-business voting record. Nine senators and 27 assembly members met this criterion. Among them, Senators Carrie Buck and Lisa Krasner, along with Assembly Members Jill Dickman, Danielle Gallant, Richard McArthur, and Phillip O’Neill achieved perfect scores.
Non-incumbent candidates interested in gaining NFIB NV PAC’s endorsement will be required to complete a questionnaire.
