The Nevada War Room has reported that Aaron D. Ford, a candidate for the Nevada gubernatorial race, spent 137 days outside the state in 2024. This includes trips to France during the Summer Olympics, Martha’s Vineyard, New York City, and various campaign locations. The announcement was made on November 12 through a social media post on X.

According to an investigation by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Ford’s travel schedule aligns with the Nevada War Room’s criticism. The report indicates that Ford traveled extensively in 2024, visiting countries such as France, Singapore, Taiwan, and Mexico, as well as several U.S. cities including Washington, D.C. This pattern of travel has led to questions about his commitment to state responsibilities.

The Review-Journal reports that Ford incurred over $82,100 in campaign-funded travel expenses in 2024. This includes nearly $12,000 spent on a boutique hotel stay at Martha’s Vineyard. Additionally, outside groups reportedly covered approximately $35,000 of his travel costs. These figures position Ford as the Nevada constitutional officer with the most sponsored travel for the year. Nevada War Room uses these expenditures to argue that many of Ford’s trips were not related to public duties but were instead funded by donors and special-interest organizations.

Further documentation from the Review-Journal reveals that Ford attended a conference hosted by Al Sharpton in New York City and made appearances in Detroit, Phoenix, and Philadelphia for campaign purposes. His social media posts from France during the 2024 Summer Olympics suggest that this trip was also funded by external groups. These activities support Nevada War Room’s assertion that Ford’s travels were more focused on national political activity than on governance within Nevada.

Nevada War Room is a political messaging and communications operation centered on Nevada politics. It publishes investigative commentary and critiques of state elected officials with an emphasis on accountability and transparency regarding public-official travel and spending. Its primary platform is its X feed where it releases statements and research.
