Nevada Softball won both games of a doubleheader against Colorado State on April 18, taking a 2–0 shutout in the first game and achieving a historic 23–7 victory in the second at Ram Field in Fort Collins.

The sweep is significant for Nevada, which improved its record to 32–14 overall and 13–5 in Mountain West play. The team’s offensive output in the second game tied the program’s single-game scoring record, while Madison Clark set a new single-season hits record during her standout junior year.

In game one, Tess Bumiller pitched a complete game for Nevada, allowing six hits over seven scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks. The offense provided early support with an RBI single from Clark and another run driven in by Matlyn Leetch. Nevada’s defense also contributed by turning a key double play to end a Colorado State threat.

The second game saw Nevada collect 21 hits and score runs in nearly every inning, capped by a twelve-run seventh inning. Clark broke the program’s single-season hits mark with her third hit of the day and finished with four runs scored, three stolen bases, and an RBI. Rylie Haith added five RBIs including two doubles; Anna Braukus had three hits including a home run; Katie Wetteland homered as part of her three-RBI effort; Hannah Di Genova and Haylee Engelbrecht each recorded three hits and two RBIs.

After giving up early runs, Nevada’s bullpen settled down as Ainsley Berlingeri earned the win followed by Talia Tretton’s three scoreless innings. Sofie Seese closed out the seventh to secure both victories for Nevada.

Nevada will conclude its series against Colorado State tomorrow at Ram Field.
