The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) has announced the recipients of the 2024 Individual Safety Awards. These awards recognize individuals in the mining industry who have shown exceptional commitment to safety. The honorees will be celebrated at the Annual NVMA Convention in South Lake Tahoe in September.

The awards program highlights employees who have maintained high safety standards within their organizations. This year, 230 nominations were submitted and voted on by industry peers across eleven categories.

“The safety of our workforce is paramount in the mining industry, and these awards provide a unique opportunity to honor those individuals who have shown a commitment to this critical aspect of our operations,” said NVMA President Amanda Hilton. “We are proud to recognize these safety champions and their contributions to fostering a secure working environment.”

In addition, the NVMA will announce recipients of the Mine Operator Safety Awards in July. These awards will highlight companies that have demonstrated dedication to providing safe workplaces, based on data from the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
