Nevada Health Centers announced on Mar. 12 that its Mobile Dental Services will visit Carson City from April 20 to April 24, providing dental care for local students. The service is open to all students in the area, regardless of insurance status, with appointments available throughout the week at various times.

The initiative aims to improve access to dental care for children and addresses barriers faced by families who may not have regular access to such services. Nevada Health Centers said it will accept private insurance, Medicaid, and Nevada Check Up. For families without insurance coverage, care will be provided at no cost through a grant from the Carson City Communities Support Services Grant.

The mobile office is fully staffed with dentists and assistants and offers a range of services including exams, X-rays, extractions, fillings, cleanings, sealants, restorative services, and oral health education. The program operates Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. until noon. The clinic closes daily for lunch between noon and 1 p.m.

Nevada Health Centers supports community health through school-based programs and mammography initiatives while serving patients regardless of their ability to pay using sliding fee scales, according to the official website. The organization also provides mobile health services through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and operates multiple centers across both rural and urban areas in Nevada according to the official website.

Walter Davis serves as chief executive officer of Nevada Health Centers according to the official website. The organization is designated as a federally qualified health center according to the official website, focusing on providing access to quality healthcare services for all Nevadans according to the official website.

This effort reflects broader goals within Nevada Health Centers’ mission of expanding healthcare access throughout the state.
