Nevada Softball had six players named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Mountain Region teams after a notable season, according to a May 14 announcement. Hannah Di Genova and Madison Clark were selected for the First Team, Katie Wetteland and Tess Bumiller earned Second Team honors, while Haylee Engelbrecht and Talia Tretton were named to the Third Team.

The recognition highlights individual performances during what was described as a historic year for Nevada’s program. The awards reflect both offensive and defensive contributions from each athlete across multiple positions.

Di Genova, who was also recognized as the Mountain West Player of the Year, posted a .424 batting average with a 1.451 OPS, hitting 26 home runs and driving in 85 RBIs over 59 starts. “Di Genova’s elite combination of power, plate discipline, and defensive steadiness earned her a well-deserved spot on the NFCA First Team,” according to Nevada Softball. Clark led Nevada with a .458 batting average and contributed with 99 hits, 58 runs scored, and 31 stolen bases in her junior season.

Wetteland was noted as one of the top freshmen in the region by earning Second Team honors after recording a .400 average with significant extra-base hits. Bumiller pitched over 111 innings during her senior year and was credited for being central to Nevada’s success throughout the season.

Engelbrecht received Third Team recognition after producing both offensively (.366 average) and defensively (.958 fielding percentage). Tretton completed Nevada’s list of honorees following contributions at bat (.328 average) as well as in pitching duties across numerous appearances.

All athletes who received All-Region status are now eligible for consideration on the upcoming NFCA Division I All-America teams.
