The Nevada Wolf Pack football team fell to Kansas State by a score of 38-17 on Sept. 18, dropping their overall record to 2-1, but starting out their conference record at 0-1 for the year.
One fan, Steve Buck, commented on the loss on Twitter, “Watching how easy KSU ran the ball and flat out bullied the offensive and defensive lines, I couldn’t help but feel the ceiling drop to 8-4.”
The loss was discouraging for many Wolf Pack fans, who were largely optimistic that the team could be a powerhouse in the conference this year. The fact that the game wasn’t particularly close also contributed to the now-negative mood surrounding the team. The Wolf Pack was dominated at the line of scrimmage, falling victim to a star-studded Kansas State offensive line.
This was the first game since the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Ohio, which took place on Jan. 3rd, 2020, where Nevada gave up more than 260 yards rushing on 5.5 yards per attempt, according to SB Nation. The Wolf Pack’s Devonte Lee led the team in rushing yards with a measly 24, chipping in a touchdown as well in the effort.
Nevada is scheduled to face Boise State on Oct. 2, according to ESPN, which the team hopes will be a bounce back victory.
