On Feb. 6, 2026, the Nevada Department of Transportation announced a two-week schedule of overnight lane and ramp closures on Interstate 215 as part of its I-215 Pavement Preservation Project. The project will improve nearly four miles of I-215 between the I-15 interchange and Windmill Lane.

The department said these restrictions are necessary to improve and repair roadway joints. Nightly closures from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. will take place between Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, affecting both eastbound and westbound lanes as well as several on-ramps at Warm Springs Road and the Airport Connector.

“Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors,” according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

According to the official website, the Nevada Department of Transportation promotes roadway safety through programs targeting zero fatalities and advances multimodal planning for aviation, public transit, freight, bicycle and pedestrian needs. The department manages about 5,400 miles of highways and more than 1,000 bridges statewide.

The agency organizes operations through three districts in Las Vegas, Sparks and Elko with major maintenance stations for statewide coverage. It covers southern, northwest and northeast Nevada through its districts. Oversight is provided by a seven-member board of directors.

The department aims to provide, operate and preserve a reliable and sustainable transportation system that boosts safety, quality of life and economic growth (official website).
