The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced the substantial completion of the I-15 South Widening Project. This $71 million infrastructure project aims to enhance capacity and support growth in Southern Nevada’s south valley and freight corridors. The project was completed on schedule and under budget, improving a stretch of I-15 between Sloan Road and Warm Springs Road.
Construction started in January 2024 and reached substantial completion by December 2025. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion, attended by NDOT Deputy Director Mario Gomez, Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony, and Fisher Industries Owner Tommy Fisher. The project exemplifies collaboration between NDOT, local partners, and industry leaders to improve transportation in Southern Nevada.
Key improvements include widening I-15 from six to eight lanes between Sloan Road and St. Rose Parkway, expanding it to 11 lanes between St. Rose Parkway and Blue Diamond Road, restriping sections of the highway, resurfacing bridges at the Blue Diamond interchange, and constructing six new sound walls near residential areas.
Fisher Sand & Gravel served as the contractor for this project, which was primarily funded through federal transportation dollars.
