The Nevada Department of Transportation announced on April 3 an updated schedule of overnight lane and ramp closures on Interstate 15 in the southern Las Vegas Valley. The restrictions are required for pavement repairs at the Sloan Road interchange.

According to the department, northbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane at the Sloan Road interchange from 5 p.m. Sunday, April 6 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 7. On Monday night, April 7 from 8 p.m. until Tuesday morning, April 8 at 5 a.m., northbound I-15 will again be reduced to one lane at Sloan Road and the northbound off-ramp to Sloan Road will be closed with a detour available at St. Rose Parkway. On Tuesday night, April 8 from 8 p.m. through Wednesday morning, April 9 at 5 a.m., southbound I-15 will be reduced to two lanes at the same interchange.

“Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors,” according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

The Nevada Department of Transportation promotes roadway safety through programs targeting zero fatalities and advances multimodal planning for aviation, public transit, freight, bicycle and pedestrian needs, according to the official website. Operations are organized through three districts in Las Vegas, Sparks and Elko along with major maintenance stations for statewide coverage; these districts cover southern, northwest and northeast Nevada according to information provided by the department’s website. A seven-member board of directors oversees operations as outlined on their official page.
