The Nevada Department of Transportation announced on April 2 that lane restrictions will continue as part of its Pavement Preservation Project on U.S. 95 in Clark County, aiming to improve roadway conditions on a key corridor south of Boulder City.

The project covers approximately 17 miles of U.S. 95, from about seven miles north of Nelson Road to nearly three miles south of the Interstate 11 junction, between mileposts 37.85 and 55.15. Work includes milling and resurfacing the roadway, repairing damaged pavement, updating striping and signage, upgrading drainage and lighting, and installing tortoise fencing.

From Monday, April 6 through Friday, May 22, both northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 95 will be reduced to one lane between mileposts 44 and 50, north of Eldorado Valley Drive. Lane closures will shift between the left and right sides as work progresses. Motorists are advised to use caution in work zones and consider alternate detour routes when possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions; schedules may change due to weather or other factors.

The Nevada Department of Transportation promotes roadway safety through programs targeting zero fatalities and advances multimodal planning for aviation, public transit, freight, bicycle and pedestrian needs, according to the official website. The department manages about 5,400 miles of highways and more than 1,000 bridges statewide; it organizes operations through three districts in Las Vegas, Sparks and Elko along with major maintenance stations for statewide coverage; it covers southern, northwest and northeast Nevada through its districts; a seven-member board oversees its activities; and it aims to provide a reliable transportation system that boosts safety, quality of life and economic growth—all according to the official website.

Additional state highway information is available at dot.nv.gov or by calling (775) 888-7000. For current state highway conditions visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving. Updates are also available on social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram according to the official roster page.
