Public Radio KUNV, located within the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, has received a nomination for Best Smooth Jazz Radio Station of the Year. The nomination comes from broadcasting professionals, industry partners, and smooth jazz artists.

KUNV has previously won this award from the Smooth Jazz Network on two occasions. If successful this year, it would be the station’s third time receiving the honor.

The station offers programming that features contemporary jazz blended with adult contemporary music. It also serves as a learning platform for students in the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) from all academic backgrounds. Students participating in KUNV activities gain practical experience in areas such as on-air performances, audio production, reporting, broadcast management, and live sports broadcasting.

“KUNV programming includes contemporary jazz mixed with adult contemporary and provides NSHE college students from all majors with hands-on learning in broadcasting, journalism, and marketing. Students are afforded opportunities that include on-air performances, audio production, reporting, broadcast management, and live sports broadcasting.”
