Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo said that the state’s new Fuel Resiliency Committee represents a significant advancement toward ensuring affordable and reliable energy for future generations.

“Yesterday, our Fuel Resiliency Committee was approved by the Nevada Homeland Security Commission,” said Joseph Michael Lombardo, Governor of Nevada. “This is a major step towards securing affordable and reliable energy in Nevada for generations to come. The work of the committee will begin immediately.”

Governor Lombardo announced that the Nevada Homeland Security Commission has approved the creation of the Fuel Resiliency Committee. This initiative is designed to strengthen the state’s fuel supply chain and emergency response capabilities.

Nevada’s reliance on imported petroleum and refined products underscores the importance of energy resilience for economic stability. The Fuel Resiliency Committee will assess infrastructure, distribution networks, and fuel storage strategies to safeguard supply.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Nevada’s energy demand has increased alongside its population growth. The state is investing in diversification and renewable resources to enhance reliability and reduce long-term costs.

Lombardo, who is the 31st governor of Nevada and a former Clark County sheriff, has focused on economic growth, energy independence, and public safety since taking office in 2023. He promotes balanced, practical governance.
