Nevada Health Centers and Silver Summit Health Plan welcomed community members to the Elko Area Chamber Business After Hours event at Elko Family Medical & Dental Center on March 19. The gathering brought together local partners, businesses, and residents for an evening focused on connection and information sharing.

The event provided a chance for attendees to meet healthcare providers, learn about available services, and discuss the importance of accessible care in Elko County. More than 90 people attended throughout the evening, with organizers highlighting the addition of new providers aimed at expanding access for patients in the area. Updates were also shared regarding ongoing efforts to serve neighboring communities such as Carlin.

Guests learned about a range of offerings including family medicine, dental care, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. Nevada Health Centers supports community health through school-based programs and mammography initiatives while serving patients regardless of their ability to pay by using sliding fee scales, according to the official website.

In addition to its fixed sites like Elko Family Medical & Dental Center, Nevada Health Centers provides mobile health services through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and operates multiple centers across both rural and urban areas in Nevada, according to the official website. The organization is designated as a federally qualified health center focused on providing quality healthcare access for all Nevadans. Walter Davis serves as chief executive officer of Nevada Health Centers according to its official website.

Events such as Business After Hours are part of how Nevada Health Centers maintains connections with local communities. Organizers say these gatherings help them better understand regional needs so they can continue improving healthcare access across rural parts of the state.
