WASHINGTON Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03), spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to congratulate the Las Vegas Golden Knights on last night’s historic Stanley Cup victory. Congresswoman Lee honored the Golden Knights as not just a sport team but a symbol of unity and resilience, tied to the community when their very first home game came just days after the tragic shooting that struck Las Vegas on October 1, 2017.

“We were shaken to our core. But we were resilient, we were united, and we were Vegas Strong. And something that captured that spirit so clearly was when, just days later, the Golden Knights stood shoulder to shoulder with the Vegas community and honored the victims of this tragedy at their first home game, showing the true meaning of ‘Vegas Strong’

“The Golden Knights have always been more than just a sports team for our community, and now, for the first time, they are world champions. Our unlikely heroes 6 years ago—a ragtag hockey team just getting to know their new city—helped us heal in ways we never imagined.”
